Scope and application process

Projects eligible for funding must aim to:

  • develop (or accelerate the development of) disease-modifying therapies to slow and/or halt parkinsonisms;

  • identify or validate therapeutic targets that may form the basis for future interventions.

Funding is available for fundamental, preclinical, translational, and clinical research.

This call is now closed for applications (deadline: Monday 13 April 2026, 12.00 pm).

The Talent Prize for Best Publication 2026 is open to junior researchers who obtained their PhD no more than three years ago and are first author of a scientific publication on parkinsonism (Parkinson’s disease, Lewy body dementia, or atypical parkinsonism) that has recently been accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed scientific journal.

The Talent Prize for Best Dissertation is awarded to researchers who have recently completed a PhD at a Dutch research institute, with a dissertation focused on parkinsonism (Parkinson’s disease or atypical parkinsonism).

Application process

You can submit your application until 29 June 2026, 12.00 noon via: research@parkinsonnederland.nl
